What really stood out to us regarding USAA Bank’s website usability was all of the unique features that were offered throughout the site. One of the first features we noticed when researching different accounts was a member review system in which one can view what USAA members have said about the bank. Granted, we do not know if the bank was selective as far as which reviews to show and which not to, but for the most part the ratings and reviews looked fair and balanced.
The next feature worth mentioning was a comparison tab that allows one to compare USAA Bank’s features for a specific account alongside similar banks. USAA Bank’s website also has their “Deposit at Home” feature, where customer’s can simply scan their checks from home or mobile device straight to their account. Lastly, they had what was titled “member 2 member,” which was basically a forum where one can ask questions about an account and another member or administrator can answer them. All of these features along with a simplistic and inviting setup made USAA Bank rate highly for website usability.

At first look, I thought I was only able to get their services because my wife’s father was military. However, on their “Become a Member” page, it has information about their services for “other individuals” (aka non-military related). It says: USAA’s investment products, most checking and savings products, credit cards, life insurance, and shopping and discounts are available to other individuals.
I love their deposit at home and we haven’t gone to a bank for 4 years!

The only reason I have not looked into using USAA, is because it’s hard to get an account there. I believe you have to be apart of the military, or be invited in by a member. Otherwise, I think they are a great bank.
