Money Market Accounts with KeyBank
At KeyBank, their savings account and their money market accounts are similar. But, there are differences between the accounts, differences that can help you gain more interest and make more money off your own money.
Key Gold Money Market Account
KeyBank offers savings and money market accounts to help you put money aside for the future. They have a Gold and a Silver Money Market Savings Account available for consumers to choose from. Just as gold is worth more than silver, the Gold account requires more money to open the account than the Silver account. The Gold account requires $30,000 to open the account and the rates aren’t great. The highest interest rate you can earn on your money through the Key Gold Account is 0.30 percent and that is if you have over $5 million in the account. There is a monthly maintenance service charge of $18, but by keeping a minimum balance of $30,000 in your account AND having a relationship rewards package deal through KeyBank. There is also a $15 fee is you withdraw or transfer more money than is in your account. The rates for other money market accounts can be found at BankTruth.org to find which bank can offer the best interest rates and APY on your money.
Key Silver Money Market Account
If you are wanting to open a money market account with KeyBank, now is the time to get even more rewards. Key’s Silver account is offering to give you one point on every dollar in your account as of July 22,2011. These points can be redeemed for travel, electronics, gift cards and other great items. The minimum opening balance for the Silver Account is only $50. There is a monthly maintenance service charge of $12, but that can be waived by transferring at least $25 into this account, having a checking account with KeyBank, or maintaining a minimum daily balance of $5,000. And, with this deal going on, if you have at least the minimum balance in your account on July 22, you will have 5,000 points to redeem for something of your choice. The interest rate and APY of this account is 0.15 percent for amounts under $2,500 and 0.20 percent for anything over $2,500. There are other accounts with higher interest rates, but through this one time deal, you can earn more rewards for something you need, or want.
